Meet Candice
Candice Debrah Owusu, a contemporary Christian Gospel singer and songwriter, launched her music career in 2026 with her first single, “Jesus My All.” Released on January 8th, 2026, as a birthday gift for her mother, Grace, on her 60th birthday, the song marked a significant milestone in her musical journey.
Candice spent her formative years in Accra, Ghana, before relocating to the United States at the age of 16. She moved with her siblings, Elsy and Michael. Currently, she is happily married to her long term Husband, Raymond Owusu. Together, they have three children: Amare, Reina, and Asher. She enjoys family time, cracking jokes and being of service to others in and outside of Church. She is a daddy’s girl.
Singing was always her passion, but she had distanced herself from pursuing a music career to avoid the distractions of the music industry. So, why now? Well, her siblings challenged her to a lifetime achievement to: “Share her voice and creative ability with the world. In exchange, they would stop pestering her about her hidden talent. Deal?”
Candice agreed.
In short, she is doing music for the joy of it and to fulfill a promise to her siblings.

Her Music
Candice’s signature style of music is gospel worship song in a contemporary style. She sings as the lead vocalist with a clear, powerful, and dynamic tenor voice. Her go-to instrumentation includes a piano playing arpeggiated chords, a bass guitar providing a foundational rhythm, and drums with a steady, uplifting beat. A synth pad also adds atmospheric texture. Most of her songs are performed in a major key, with a moderate tempo. Candice’s vocal melody is expressive and uses melisma.
Vocals production elements for her songs include reverb on the vocals, subtle"Flex-Tune" for letting pitch variation through, and manual controls for rate, depth, and shape, allowing for enhancements in her vibrato. The result is a clean mix that highlights her versatile vocal ranges. Songs from Candice build in intensity, with the addition of a choir in the chorus sections, providing rich harmonies. She often follows a typical verse-chorus format with an instrumental break and an outro.

At the moment, Candice is an independent artist that performs her songs exclusively within Debrah Empire Studios. A family owned entity that manages her music creation, mixing, and publishing.

Candice is willing to perform any of her songs live to an audience, provided she has a month’s advance notice and her traveling expenses are covered. She primarily performs at churches, weddings, birthdays, and other similar events.
